The 4th of August MYL celebrated National Play Day at all our centres. The play sessions was filled to the brim with great activities like treasure hunts, face painting, den building and lots of outdoor games.
Manchester Young Lives know the importance of play more than anyone. With multiple play sessions at each centre every week, we try to make sure that every day is a play day.
Why is play important? In the #Play2016 press release, Jacqueline O’Loughlin of PlayBoard NI said: ‘Play matters because it is important for children’s health, happiness and well-being. Play supports creativity while developing children’s imagination, dexterity, and physical, cognitive, and emotional strength. Through play children from the earliest of ages engage with and interact in the world around them’
We could not agree more! We hope 2016 will see play in Greater Manchester get even better and accessible for every child.
