Were you at the Moss Side Caribbean Carnival this weekend? We were!
It was incredible to see our two favourite carnival dance teams place 1st and 2nd in the 2018 Dance Troupe Competition. Their wins were more than well-deserved, as both teams have been rehearsing tirelessly at the Moss Side Millennium Powerhouse for months.
The Jet Black Dance School, who were crowned the 1st Place winners in the Carnival Dance Troupe Competition.
The Saints Dance Squad, who were awarded 2nd place in the Carnival Dance Troupe Competition.
Some members of our MYL Youth Engagement Team were also in attendance – they were on hand to offer pastoral support throughout the day and, as usual, they loved getting involved and chatting to the young people who were there.
MYL Youth Engagement Workers Imogen and Zara, with huge smiles on their faces.
We would like to give a special mention to Councillor Luthfur Rahman, the Executive Member for Schools, Culture and Leisure Services, who came to support MYL and Young Manchester, as well as enjoying his day at the carnival.
MYL Youth Engagement Worker Norris, and Youth Engagement Development Manager Lee Ann, with Councillor Luthfur Rahman.
If only we could do it all over again… We’re looking forward to next year already!
