Over 50 of MYL’s staff headed to Tatton Park in Knutsford, Cheshire to explore the 18th Century mansion and its working farm as part of a team building day designed to bring the different staff teams within the organisation together. After a brief welcome from our Chief Executive Paul, the MYL staff were divided up into teams and sent on a guided tour around the mansion. Clipboards in hand, they explored the rooms of the Egerton family home, competing to answer the quiz on the various rooms, features and history of the mansion.

After a light lunch, staff were given the opportunity to ask MYL Trustees questions and the Trustees shared their experiences and thoughts on visions for the future, their day-to-day roles and what motivated them to join the organisation.  Afterwards, the teams were given a 5 minute quiz, having to guess the right staff member from a collection of baby pictures!

The day continued at Home Farm and finally ended inside the luxurious Lord Egerton’s apartment, where the winners of the quiz were announced and prizes were given out for the winning team and the best team leader. After some closing remarks by Paul and a quick photo, it was time head home.

Overall the day was a huge success, bringing staff teams together that, due to the working hours of each of the organisation’s provisions, would not normally interact with one another. Manchester Young Lives would also like to give a special thanks to the staff at Tatton Park who did a fantastic job of hosting the organisation.
