Manchester Young Lives Provision Update 08/05/20
Our Independent School continues to provide care for vulnerable students and children of key workers, as outlined in government guidance on maintaining educational provision. Staff have been in regular contact with students who do not fall within this category to ensure that they have access to learning materials and our teaching staff have been getting creative by making activity resource videos, which have been shared via our social media and can also be seen below.
Play and Youth staff have been communicating with families and young people, with regular updates on activities also shared via our social media accounts to help people remain active and engaged while staying home and staying safe.
Detached Keyworkers have continued their partial and targeted work out in the community, providing information, support and guidance to young people to ensure that they stay home and save lives. This has included distributing leaflets to ensure that our young people have access to accurate information, help and support whether they are online or not. Our other staff teams are continuing to work remotely, maintaining contact with young people via phone and email as much as possible.
We realise that this continues to be a very challenging time for everyone and appreciate the continued support of our funders and partners. We would also like to take this opportunity to once again pay tribute to our staff teams who continue to demonstrate resilience and commitment in adapting to new ways of working in order to continue our work in supporting local communities.
Our thoughts continue to be with those who have been affected through illness at this time and we encourage everyone to respect the guidance to stay home and stay safe.
