Manchester Young Lives [MYL] celebrated Play Day, the national day for play in the UK, on Wednesday 5th August, with a series of fun and engaging activities across our centres in Wythenshawe, Ardwick and Moss Side.
Play Day is an annual day held to recognise children and young people’s right to play whilst also highlighting to benefits of providing young people with a safe space to express themselves through play, something that MYL prides itself on.
As an organisation which originated from local people and communities coming together to create their own opportunities through adventure play, MYL has been advocating the benefits and importance of play in children’s development for the past 50 years and continues to do so as the Strategic Play Lead for the City of Manchester. We were therefore excited to be able to make a BIG noise with our young people to raise awareness of the advantages of play alongside the rest of the UK for Play Day 2020.
