Manchester Young Lives are looking to appoint a Detached Youth Engagement worker to work as part of a mobile team, based in North Manchester, working evenings and occasional weekends using a community-based approach and working collaboratively with local agencies in designated areas

Using a team based approach to engage with young people aged 11 -19 within the community, promoting appropriate behaviour, encourage positive activities accessible for the age range including promotion of social action projects.  A particular aim will be to reduce anti-social behaviour (ASB) through educating and engaging with young people. You will be responsible for building a rapport with young people who are/at risk of being vulnerable, promoting and signposting to accessible local services/organisations/charities

Successful candidates will have enthusiasm and passion for working with young people, commitment to making a difference to local communities is key to the success of this post. Hours of work include after school and evenings Monday to Friday. There is also a requirement for staff teams to work across a number of locations and at street based level.
