Do you have the right mix of enthusiasm and passion for working with children and young people and a commitment to making a real difference? We are recruiting an Area Play & Youth Worker at Manchester Young Lives, to provide both open access and targeted play and youth work activities. Our after-school play provision is Ofsted registered and provides activities for 6-13 year olds. Alongside this, our youth provision works with young people age 11-16 during the evenings.

These sessions allow local children the opportunity to learn, develop and connect with their communities, all within the safe and supportive environment of our adventure playgrounds. If you can build relationships with children and young people, have fun and offer support, we would love to hear from you.

This role is primarily based at our Wythenshawe Centre, 18.5 hours per week, after school and evenings Monday to Friday, until 8.30pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. This can work alongside day time education or other work/personal commitments. You will also need to be available to work during the Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays. We are happy to consider job shares, reduced hours or flexible working arrangements.

Please note CVs will not be considered as part of your application for this position. Application and Demographic forms must be returned either via email to [email protected] or by post to Manchester Young Lives, The Addy Young People’s Centre, Woodhouse Lane, Wythenshawe, M22 9TF.

This is a re-advertisement and therefore previous applicants need not re-apply. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
