During her master’s degree in Msc Management and Information Systems: Change and Development at the University of Manchester in 2016, Zola started working part-time at her local charity – Didsbury Good Neighbours and subsequently went on to secure a full-time position as Project Coordinator with the charity after acquiring her degree. Zola has a wide range of experience working closely with the Board of Trustees in expanding the work of the charity and managing its business functions and was further promoted to Business Manager after successful development and implementation of the community centre and the community café to further diversify income streams.

Zola joined Manchester Young Lives as Business Support Manager in April 2022 to further develop her knowledge and expertise in a larger charity.  Since joining the organisation Zola has adapted a very good understanding of all aspects of MYL delivery, funding and monitoring requirements, managed a small team, and took on more responsibility for company finances.   Zola works closely with the CEO to ensure the business functions of the organisation are run efficiently to meet the needs of the organisation.  Zola has embraced all aspects of her role since joining the organisation leading to a promotion to Business and Finance Manager in Sept 24.  Zola is excited about this new opportunity in her career enhancing her skills and knowledge further for continuous professional development.
